Fire Detection Systems
SPEC Building Services install and maintain commercial and industrial fire detection systems to BS 5839. We are able to install all types of systems, from complex zoned addressable systems with automatic smoke and heat detectors, to manual break glass systems. All our work is tested and certified in accordance with BS5839: Part 6 and NICEIC requirements.
Regular maintenance of any fire detection system is essential to ensure its correct operation in an emergency to preserve life and property. BS5839: Part 1 sets out the guidelines for a maintenance regime.
We would recommend that end-users become familiar with the system and carry out a weekly test to ensure call points, detectors and sounders operate correctly. By rotating the zones each week, full coverage of the system is achieved.
In addition to weekly tests, Spec Building Services are able to carry out quarterly, yearly and the other less frequent tests recommended by BS5839 to ensure your system is fully functional and maintained.
